Just Dots on Paper

I draw what interests me and that can be many things. Sometimes it’s from nature, music, something from my faith or just something because I like the design.

What is more important than what I am drawing is the art form itself, pointillism, just dots on paper. When I start tapping out dots onto the paper, everything around me melts away. The world, for a time, ceases to exist and the only thing left is me and the art, just dots on paper.

I put dots on paper until the design starts to take its form and show itself. I put dots on paper and watch as the image slowly grows before my eyes. As the image takes shape the art takes on a life of its own. My original ideas for the art may become lost as I take my cues from the growing image as to what to do next. I keep putting dots on paper until the art lets something inside me know when to stop. Then you see the finished art that started as just dots on paper.
